FT: The Italians created some good chances and found the opener when a fine cross from Ghoulam was volleyed home by Callejón before substitute Mertens was denied by Oblak from a freekick. Ghoulam then forced Oblak into another fine save with a powerful strike.
FT: The Spaniards created some good chances and went close when Griezmann fired an effort just wide from a tight-angle before Godín headed wide from close-range. HT: So will Napoli open the scoring or will Atlético punish the Italian side for the missed penalty? Join us again for the second-half.
HT: Napoli started the match more brighter than their Spanish counter-parts but haven’t made the most of their chances. They will have to be more clinical if they are to go further in this tournament and they won’t want to rue their missed penalty. Atlético have looked nervous in defence and this is demonstrated by the manner in which they conceded the penalty, however fortuitously for them, Milik didn’t score. Atlético have created the better chances but haven’t made the most of them either. They won’t want to rue their missed opportunities but know they will ha to improve against a Napoli side, who have players on the bench that are more than capable of taking chances.
HT: Napoli didn’t create many chances but had a great chance to take the lead from the penalty-spot but Milik was denied by Oblak, who guessed correctly to palm the spot-kick behind before Insigne curled an effort at-goal that Oblak palmed behind.
HT: Atlético created some good chances and went close when Gaitán’s back-heel was denied by Reina after the Spaniard palmed away a fine header from Griezmann. Griezmann then went close when he volleyed just wide after combining with Koke.
