FIFA Confederations Cup 2017
Kazan Arena, Kazan, Russia
Chile win 3-0 on penalties.
Thanks for joining us.
FT: The result means that Chile progress into their first ever FIFA Confederations Cup Final while Portugal await their opponents in the third-place play-off. Chile will face either Germany or Mexico in the Final.
FT: Chile deserved the victory on the balance of play and the number of chances they created. They struck the woodwork twice in Extra-Time and had a clear penalty denied. Portugal didn’t really get going in Extra-Time and didn’t create many clear-cut chances throughout the match.
FT: So Chile progress into the Confederations Cup Final.
Nani’s spot-kick is saved by Bravo, who guesses right once again to palm the effort away.

ET FT: Portugal didn’t create any chances but Chile create a few good chances and should have scored when substitute Rodríguez struck the bar after Vidal hit the post with a strike from-range. They also had a good shout for a penalty turned down by the referee after substitute Francisco Silva was caught by Fonte in the area.
ET FT: So we’re heading to penalties.

HT: So will it be Portugal to take the lead or will Chile find the opener in this match? Join us again for the second-half.
HT: Both sides will need to be more clinical in front of goal. Portugal know that they can’t afford to keep on passing-up good opportunities against Chile as they won’t want to rue their missed opportunities. The same has to be said of Chile, who have got into a number of good positions and been wasteful. André Silva will need to be provided with more service if he is to threaten the Chile goal. Sánchez has been relatively quiet for Chile and will need better service in order for him to threaten the Portugal goal.
HT: Chile created some good chances and went close when Vargas was played through on-goal but his effort was smothered by Patrício, although he should have scored before Aránguiz headed an effort just wide after a fine cross from Díaz. Aránguiz then fired wide on the volley after Vidal miscued his bicycle-kick.
HT: Portugal created some good chances and went close when Bernardo Silva found Gomes, who tested Bravo before André Silva spurned a great chance when his effort was smothered from close-range, although he should have scored.
HT: So we’re goalless at the break with nothing to separate the two sides.
