Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Portugal finish at the top of Group A on seven points, ahead of second-placed Mexico on goal-difference, while hosts Russia finish in third on three points and bow out of the competition alongside New Zealand, who finish bottom without a point.

FT: The Oceanic Champions created some good chances and should have pulled a goal back when Wood looked set to tap-in from a Doyle cross but his effort was cleared on the goal-line by Alves before a long-throw fell to substitute Barbarouses but his deflected effort was saved well by Patrício. Wood then tested Patrício from-range before Boxall was brilliantly denied by Patrício after the Sporting keeper clattered into Alves. Barbarouses then combined with a teammate before firing an effort over the bar.

FT: The European Champions created some good chances and went close when a Ronaldo header was parried by Marinovic before André Silva was denied by a smart save from Marinovic. Substitute Nani was then denied by a fantastic reaction-save after a pull-back from Quaresma before Eliseu tested Marinovic from-range. André Silva then made it four with a fine solo-goal after Quaresma won possession in the New Zealand half before Nani added a late fourth.

FT: So Portugal defeat New Zealand to seal top-spot in Group A and progress into the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup Semi-finals.

HT: So will Portugal hold onto their lead or will New Zealand produce a surprise come-back in this match? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: Portugal will need to add to their tally in order to put the tie to bed and seal their place in the Semi-finals of the competition. The European Champions will have to be at their best defensively as they won’t want to concede a goal to the Kiwis as it may create an element of vulnerability in the side. New Zealand need to provide Wood with better service. The All Whites have got into some promising positions but have lacked the cutting-edge in the final third and the strikers have been isolated. They have to be at their best defensively or it could be an embarrassing defeat for the Ocean Champions, who are already out of the competition.

HT: New Zealand initially started well and went close when Wood fired an effort at-goal that Patrício saved well.

HT: Portugal created some good chances and went close when Ronaldo met a Quaresma cross with a header but it was straight at Marinovic, following a corner before Ronaldo struck the bar with a header from another Quaresma cross. Pereira then headed an effort just wide via a deflection following a corner before Ronaldo put Portugal ahead from the penalty-spot after Pereira was bundled over from a corner by Doyle. Bernardo Silva then doubled their lead when he tapped home from Eliseu’s pull-back.

HT: So Portugal lead at the break.
