Stade Louis II, Monte-Carlo, Monaco, France

0-2

29′ Higuaín

59′ Higuaín

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Juventus will take a two-goal lead back with them to Turin, with the two precious away goals giving them a further advantage. Monaco will need to find two away goals without reply themselves in Turin but will know that is easier said than done based on tonight’s performance. The result was also the first time that Monaco failed to score at home in 42 consecutive matches.

FT: The hosts created a number of good chances in the second-half but lacked the cutting-edge. First Falcao spurned a great chance when he was sent through by Silva but his strike was straightforward for Buffon before Silva’s effort from-range tested the keeper. Substitute Germain then went close when he met fellow substitute Moutinho’s freekick but Buffon made a fine save to deny the striker.

FT: The visitors created less chances than their opponents overall but were much more clinical. First Marchisio went close when he forced Subašić into a fine save after dispossessing Lemar, before Higuaín volleyed home from a fine Alves cross.

FT: So Juventus take a 2-0 lead back to Turin.

HT: So will Juventus extend their tally to take a larger lead back to Turin or will Monaco come back in this match in order to take something to Italy? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: The visitors will look to add to their tally in order to take a larger lead back to Turin and will need to make the most of their opportunities when Monaco’s full-backs surge forward. Monaco will have to get Silva and Falcao more involved. Both players have been relatively quiet by their usual standard with the latter deprived of much service. The Ligue 1 leaders will have to be more clinical if they are to come back in this tie, given the fact that the visitors have an away-goal. In addition to this, they have to be cautious in defence and cannot to concede another goal as it would mean that Monaco would have to score two away goals at the Juventus Stadium.

HT: Monaco created a number of good chances prior to the Juventus goal. First Mbappé met a Dirar cross with a header, which was straight at Buffon, before his instinctive-volley from another Dirar cross was palmed away by the Italian keeper. Falcao then met a Dirar cross with a header that Buffon tipped behind.

HT: The visitors didn’t create many chances but they have been more clinical. Their first clear-cut chance fell to Higuaín on the volley but he fired wide, following a corner. The Argentine then fired the ball home after Alves’ back-heel to score a precious away-goal before Dybala tested Subašić with a freekick.

HT: So Juventus lead at the break.
