Serie A

April 15th

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro), Milan, Italy

36′ Candreva

44′ Icardi

83′ Romagnoli

90’+7′ Zapata

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Inter remain in seventh on 56 points while AC Milan remain in sixth on 58 points.

FT: Milan deserve at least a point given they didn’t merit to fall behind by two goals in the first-half, which they had the better chances. They showed great character and created a number of good chances. First Kucka had an acrobatic volley saved well by Handanović before Medel made a fine challenge to block a Bacca strike. Deulofeu then forced Handanović into a fine save with a curling strike that the keeper palmed behind before Romagnoli then pulled a goal back for the Rossoneri after a fine delivery from Suso. Zapata then levelled the scores late at the death.

FT: Inter had a number of good chances to seal the victory in the second-half with first Candreva firing just wide before Perišić spurned a great chance after he was played through on-goal by Icardi to fire a tame effort straight at Donnarumma when he should have scored. Biabiany then fired an effort over the bar late-on. Inter’s defence capitulated as both Milan goals came from set-pieces. The were less eager than their Rossoneri counter-parts and failed to challenge for the first ball in the build-up to second-goal as Milan salvaged a point.

FT: So just as Inter scored a last minute equaliser to deny Milan all three points in November, the Rossoneri have done the same to the Nerazzurri.

HT: So will Inter add to their tally and hold onto their lead or will Milan come back in this match? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: The Rossoneri will need to find the next goal if they are to stage a comeback like Inter did against them back in November. Deulofeu has wasted a number of chances with Bacca deprived of service. The Colombian has got into some good positions but due to a lack of service he hasn’t managed to make the most of them. A lack of clinical finishing has cost Milan and they will need to find their shooting boots if they are to find a way back in this match. They must also prevent Inter from finding another goal or it could be game over. Inter will need to find the next goal to put the tie to bed and should Icardi be fed, they may well extend their lead. They have looked nervous in defence with Medel caught out by Deulofeu’s pace on a few occasions. They will need to make sure they prevent the Rossoneri from finding the net as they will not want to surrender a two-goal lead.

HT: Milan somehow trail by two goals to nil. The match could have been so different had they taken their chances earlier in the match when Deulofeu was played through on-goal but he delayed his strike with Handanović palming his effort away, before Bacca fired the ball over the bar when he should have at least hit the target. Deulofeu then fired an effort against the post from a tight-angle before Sosa saw his lobbed effort sail onto the roof of the net.

HT: The Nerazzurri were on the back-foot from the first whistle but have been very dangerous on the break and their clinical nature in front of goal has earned them a 2-0 lead. Their first chance fell to Icardi, who fired over the bar under-pressure after a fine run by Mário. Candreva then fired an effort harmlessly off-target from-range before putting the Nerazzurri ahead when he latched onto Gagliardini’s fine cross-field pass to fire through the gloves of Donnarumma. Icardi then doubled their lead when he tapped home after a nice exchange with Perišić.

HT: So Inter lead at the break with a two-goal scoreline that doesn’t reflect the nature of the game so far at all.

45’+1′ The referee blows his whistle to bring the first 45 minutes to an end.

45′ There will be one additional minute.

38′ Medel is penalised for a foul on Sosa.

34′ Candreva fires an effort harmlessly off-target from-range.

33′ Deulofeu surges and forward tries to round Handanović but the keeper manages to palm the ball away before an Inter clearance strikes the arm of the referee and falls to Kucka, who goes down under a challenge but the Milan midfielder is booked for simulation by the referee.

32′ Close!! Sosa dispossesses Medel and drives forward before cutting the ball back inside to see his lobbed effort loop onto the roof of the net.

12′ Icardi is caught offside.

12′ Sosa’s delivery is cleared at the near-post.

7′ The corner is cleared and Suso surges forward and tries to play Deulofeu through on-goal but Handanović came off his line to intercept.

6′ De Sciglio concedes a corner.

5′ Chance!! Mário does very well to beat two Milan players and send a teasing delivery across the face of goal to Icardi, who fires the ball over the bar on the volley.

2′ Icardi is caught offside.

1′ Chance!! Gagliardini loses possession and Milan break with Deulofeu played through on-goal, but the Spaniard delays his strike which is eventually palmed away by Handanović before a succession of efforts are charged-down into the path of Bacca, who fires the ball over the bar from close-range.
