6′ Jonas (P)

49′ M. Pereira

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Benfica remain a point ahead of Porto on 65 points.

FT: Out of the two sides, Benfica will be the more disappointed with the result, having dominated the match and having a number of great chances that they didn’t take advantage of but the point may be a crucial one come the end of the season.

FT: Porto deserve credit for coming back into the game and they went close on a few occasions. First M. Pereira volleyed home after André’s follow-up from Brahimi’s initial effort was blocked. Then Soares had a great opportunity when he was sent through on-goal but Ederson raced off his line to gather the ball before substitute Jota’s effort almost squirmed past Ederson.

FT: Benfica spurned a catalogue of chances to get all three points with Casillas coming to Porto’s rescue on a handful of occasions. First Jonas was teed up by Salvio after a fine pass from Mitroglou, but his scuffed-effort was palmed away fantastically by Casillas before Jonas headed inches wide from the following-corner. Mitroglou then had a great chance following a freekick when Luisão’s flick-on found the Greek striker but his effort was brilliantly denied by Casillas before Jonas’ follow-up was smothered by the Spaniard. Luisão then met a corner with a header but it was straightforward for Casillas.

FT: So an equaliser from one of Benfica’s former players has denied the Águias all three points against their fiercest rivals.

HT: So will Benfica add to their tally and hold on or will Porto find an equaliser to keep their title hopes alive? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: The hosts will need to be more clinical if they are to put the game to bed. They have spurned some good chances and when they’ve got into some promising positions, the final-pass has let them down. They will also need to remain more alert defensively given the threat from Porto from set-pieces and on the break. Porto will need to find a goal if they are to remain in this title-race. They will need to provide better service to Soares, who has been relatively isolated against Benfica’s defence. They also need to be more productive from set-pieces as Benfica have cleared a number of their deliveries thus far.

HT: The visitors have responded well since going behind and have created some good chances themselves. First Torres fired an effort just wide following a corner before Brahimi fired an effort wide from-range. Brahimi then forced Ederson into a fine save from a freekick. However their defending has been nervy at times and has cost them as they trail at the break following Felipe’s challenge that ended in a penalty, which Jonas scored from.

HT: The hosts have controlled the first-half after going ahead and created a number of good chances to double their lead. First Jonas put the hosts ahead from the penalty-spot after he was sent tumbling by Felipe before Semedo fired an effort over the bar following a great run from the right-back. Mitroglou then tested Casillas was an effort on the turn before Luisão spurned a great chance when he headed a Pizzi freekick wide from close-range. Mitroglou then headed a Silva cross over the bar under-pressure.

HT: So Benfica lead at the break.
