1-3

Aggregate: (2-6)

24′ Mertens

51′ Ramos

57′ Ramos

90’+1′ Morata

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Real Madrid progress into their seventh consecutive Champions League Quarter-final at the expense of Napoli, who bow out despite a spirited display over two legs.

FT: Napoli didn’t create as many chances as they did in the first-half with Rog’s effort that drifted just over the bar the closest they came in the second-half. Had the Neapolitans been more clinical in the first-half they may well have piled the pressure on Madrid, who looked nervous for large spells of the first-half. However Napoli’s poor defending from set-pieces has cost them as Ramos headed home from two corners.

FT: Real Madrid looked a different side to the one in the first-half and created a number of good chances. First Benzema fired an effort just wide into the side-netting before Ramos headed home twice from two separate Kroos corners. Carvajal then went close to a fine solo-goal but he fired over from close-range before Morata fired home Madrid’s third of the night.

FT: So Real Madrid progress into the Quarter-finals after quite a challenging two legs against Napoli.

HT: So will Napoli find the goal and add to their tally or will Real Madrid hold-on and extend their aggregate lead? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: Napoli need one more goal to have the advantage, given their away goal in the first-leg, however they will need to make sure they prevent Real Madrid from scoring. They need to get Mertens and Insigne on the ball as they have caused a number of problems for the Madrid defence. Madrid will be wary of the threat of conceding another and will look in search for a goal to extend their aggregate lead. Bale, Ronaldo and Benzema have to be more clinical in front of goal. They will also need to provide better service for Benzema, who has been quite isolated.

HT: The visitors have been relatively poor by their usual standards much to the credit of the Italian side, who have pressed the Champions and forced them into errors. The Spaniards did create a few good chances with Kroos and Bale testing Reina from-range before Ronaldo was denied by the post after rounding Reina.

HT: The hosts deserve the lead on the night, having created a number of good chances. First Hamšík dragged an effort just wide before Insigne forced Navas into a fine save. Then Mertens scored to reduce the deficit before Insigne tested Navas. Koulibaly also had a good chance but he headed the ball over the bar from a corner before Mertens struck the post. Hamšík then went close on two separate occasions, first firing wide following a swift break before forcing Navas into a good save at the near-post.

HT: So Napoli are ahead at the break on the night, but the Neapolitans still need one more.
