Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Borussia Mönchengladbach will progress into the Last-16 of the tournament and will await their opponents whilst Fiorentina bow out of the competition.

FT: Fiorentina can count themselves unfortunate with the penalty decision however their poor defending in the second-half cannot be excused. Fiorentina conceded all three second-half goals from three set-pieces and were lucky not to concede when the Germans hit the post following a corner in the sixth minute of the match. Despite leading on aggregate when Stindl levelled the scores on the night, the hosts couldn’t put the tie to bed. First Kalinić hesitated to get a shot away when played through on-goal by Bernardeschi before the visitors turned the game on its head. Iličić very nearly brought the Italians back into the match with a freekick that Sommer tipped onto the bar before he fired wide from-range on two separate occasions. Babacar then had a header cleared off the line before Rodríguez’s effort from-range was saved by Sommer.

FT: The visitors showed great character and determination to come back and overturn the 3-0 deficit at one point although the penalty on the stroke of half-time changed the game in the German side’s favour, which was evident with the early-goal in the second-half by Stindl. Stindl then curled home following a freekick to level the scores on aggregate before Christensen following a corner.

FT: So Borussia Mönchengladbach complete an emphatic comeback to defeat Fiorentina and progress into the last-16.

HT: So will Fiorentina hold onto their lead and add to their tally or will Borussia Mönchengladbach produce a surprise come-back? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: The complexion of the match could have been very different had the visitors taken their chances. They will need to be more clinical in the second-half if they are to claw their way back in the match. Fiorentina cannot afford to concede any more cheap goals as the German side will be hoping two more away goals will put them through. The hosts just need to make sure that they defend better than they have done in the first-half and they will progress into the next round.

HT: The visitors started well and created a few good chances. They nearly took the lead when Wendt headed a cross against the post following a corner before the hosts took the lead. Then Dahoud fired over the bar after a fine pull-back from Hermmann minutes before Fiorentina’s second. Drmić then forced Tătărușanu into a fine save after beating Sánchez. The visitors were handed a golden opportunity to get back into the tie when they were awarded a contentious penalty after Olivera was adjudged to have fouled Herrmann and Stindl capitalised, slotting home to pull a goal back.

HT: The hosts started slowly and took the lead against the run of play when Kalinić slotted home after good play from Bernardeschi. Sommer then produced a fine double-save to deny first, Chiesa and then Bernardeschi to prevent the Italian side from doubling their lead. However a poor error from Vestergaard allowed Valero to make it two.

HT: So Fiorentina lead at the break.
