Anfield, Liverpool, England
Thanks for joining us.
FT: The result means that Liverpool climb up to fourth on 49 points whilst Tottenham remain in second on 50 points, nine points behind leaders Chelsea, who can extend their lead at the top to 12 points tomorrow against Burnley. The defeat also brought an end to Tottenham’s 11-game unbeaten run.
FT: The visitors didn’t really get going in the second-half much to the credit of the Liverpool defence, who defended well and didn’t give Spurs a sniff. Their best chance in the second-half fell to Kane when he hit the post but the flag was already up for offside.
FT: The Reds were already in control of the match but did go close to extending their lead with a Matip header producing a good save from Lloris before Coutinho fired an effort just wide.
FT: So Liverpool’s first-half tally has proves to be enough to seal victory.

HT: So will Liverpool extend their lead or will Tottenham come back in this match? Join us again for the second-half.
HT: Liverpool will need to be more clinical in the second-half as they don’t want to rue their missed opportunities against a side, who are more than capable of finding the net. Tottenham need a goal if they are to come back in this match and the next goal will be crucial and should they get it, Liverpool may have to defend better than they already have done. Should Liverpool get the next goal, it could be three of four for the Reds, who will look to put the tie to bed.
HT: Tottenham are the architects of their own downfall and the scoreline at the break flatters them. Despite that, they have created a few chances with Son spurning a good opportunity when he was played through by Davies but his effort was smothered by Mignolet. Then Alli had a header cleared over the bar by Leiva before Eriksen curled a freekick just over the bar. Then Son miscued an effort that produced a comfortable save following a fine-pass from Alderweireld.
HT: The hosts have thoroughly dominated the first half and are rather unfortunate to not be further ahead. After Mané’s two goals put the Reds ahead, the Senegalese could have made it three or four. First his strike was smothered behind by Lloris before his fierce drive was tipped behind by the Frenchman. He then was denied by Dier, who made a vital challenge before Coutinho’s strike produced a good save from Lloris. Then Clyne tested Lloris with a powerful strike before Leiva headed over the bar from a corner.
HT: So Liverpool comfortably lead at the break.
