Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Roma move back into second on 50 points, four points behind leaders Juventus, who have a game in-hand and two points above third-placed Napoli whilst Fiorentina remain in eighth on 37 points. The victory was also a new club-record of 14 consecutive home league wins.

FT: Roma could have scored six or seven in truth. First El Shaarawy’s header from a Nainggolan cross was saved well by Tătărușanu before Rüdiger fired an effort just wide into the side-netting. Džeko then went close when his effort beat Tătărușanu but was cleared Astori. Emerson then went close when he fired the ball just off-target after El Shaarawy miscued a shot from Manolas’ pull-back before Tătărușanu tipped Džeko’s half-volley behind.

FT: The scoreline flattered the visitors, whose best chances in the second-half fell to Babacar and Chiesa. The former forced Szczęsny, who was a spectator for the majority of the game, into a good save before Chiesa failed to divert an Astori cross goalwards.

FT: The first goal in the second-half was going to be crucial and Roma found it, scoring their second of the night with their first chance in the second-half when Fazio headed home a De Rossi freekick. Nainggolan then composed himself to slot home from a Strootman cross before Džeko capitalised on a poor pass from Astori to make it four.

FT: So Roma added to their first-half goal to close the gap on leader Juventus to four points.

HT: The next goal will be crucial in this match and should Roma get it, it could be three of four. Should Fiorentina score next, they may well come back in this match and take the game to Roma. So will Roma add to their tally and hold on or will Fiorentina come back in this match? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: The hosts need to add to their tally such is the threat of Fiorentina on the counter-attack. Had the hosts been more clinical they would have been out of sight at the break. Fiorentina need to get Bernardeschi on the ball more and provide more service to Babacar. The visitors do have a number of fine players on the bench, who can change the complexion of the game if their performances fail to improve.

HT: The visitors’ best chance fell to Chiesa, who latched onto a cross-field pass from Rodríguez to lob Szczęsny but Fazio made a good clearing header. The visitors have got into some promising positions but have lacked the cutting-edge in the final third with Bernardeschi, Babacar and Vecino firing the ball over the bar with Szczęsny yet to be properly tested.

HT: The hosts created a number of good chances and should have taken the lead earlier in the match. First El Shaarawy had an effort smothered by Tătărușanu after a good pass from Strootman before Peres curled an effort inches wide of the far-post. Then Peres spurned a great chance, firing over the bar from close-range following a fine pass from Nainggolan. Džeko then went close when his strike forced Tătărușanu into a good save before the Bosnian got the better of the keeper, opening the scoring after a fine pass from De Rossi. The Bosnian went close again when he latched onto a loose ball after Nainggolan’s freekick hit the wall, but Tătărușanu smothered the effort.

HT: So Roma lead at the break.
