Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Sampdoria climb up to 13th on 27 points whilst Roma remain in second on 47 points, missing the chance to close the gap on leaders Juventus to a point before the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.

FT: The visitors created a number of good chances in the second-half with Džeko first firing wide from a through-ball before Nainggolan had a powerful effort saved by Puggioni. After Džeko put the Giallorossi ahead it looked as though they would go on to win the game. However two quick-fire goals from Sampdoria made it difficult. Džeko spurned another great chance when his tame header produced an easy save before Puggioni before the flag denied the Bosnian a fine half-volley. El Shaarawy also wasted a good opportunity when he was played one-on-one with the keeper, who smothered his effort. Totti almost made it a fairy-tale ending but his well-struck freekick was saved well by Puggioni.

FT: Sampdoria didn’t create many chances in the second-half but were more clinical in the final third than their opponents, taking advantage of some poor Roma defending to score two fine goals with substitute Schik firing home before Muriel’s freekick deflected home. Đuričić could have made it three late-on but Szczęsny and Rüdiger were on-hand to deny the substitute.

FT: So Sampdoria come from behind twice to defeat Roma.

HT: The next goal will be crucial and if Sampdoria get it, there could be a surprise on our hands and Roma will be forced to attack. If Roma get it, they could sit back and defend or add to their tally. So will it be Sampdoria or Roma to find the next goal? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: Sampdoria have done well to press the Giallorossi and force them into mistakes but they have to be more clinical in front of goal given they’re facing a side that have the players, who can change the complexion of the game. They will need to keep up their levels of high intensity throughout the 90 minutes which is easier said, than done. Roma have been sloppy in possession and need to get Perotti and Džeko more involved in the game if they are to create clear-cut chances. Francesco Totti and Stephan El Shaarawy are on the bench if their performances fail to improve.

HT: Roma should have doubled their lead since going ahead through Peres’ rebound. Džeko spurned a great chance when he miscued a header from a Nainggolan cross and the hosts capitalised. Džeko then teed up Nainggolan, who fired over when he should have at least hit the target. Nainggolan then teed up Peres, but this time Puggioni denied the Brazilian  before Nainggolan fired over the bar from a tight-angle.

HT: The hosts have created a number of good chances with Quagliarella first firing just wide at the near-post. Muriel also had a good chance when he got inside the area, but he opted to find a teammate instead of going for goal. Fernandes then had a great chance but Szczęsny came out to smother his effort well. Muriel then fired an effort wide before Fernandes fired an effort just over the bar. The goal was coming and it came when Praet fired home after Muriel’s pull-back. Muriel then volleyed wide from Praet’s pass, soon after.

HT: So we’re level at the break with a goal apiece for both sides.
