74′ Cresswell Sent off (Second bookable offence)

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Crystal Palace remain in eighth on 11 points, ahead of ninth-placed Bournemouth (also on 11 points) on goal difference. West Ham climb up 15th on seven points, behind 14th-placed Burnley (also on seven points) on goal difference, before the rest of the weekend’s games.

FT: Both sides appealed for penalties in the second-half with Zaha softly going to ground after a challenge from Cresswell, who was then dismissed after first being booked for an apparent dive when he was brought down, albeit by minimal contact by Cabaye. However, Palace couldn’t take advantage of the extra player. Benteke’s missed penalty in the first-half looking more costlier now.

FT: Palace had a number of chances to level the scores in the second-half. First Cabaye fired wide before Puncheon and Townsend tested Adrián. Since the dismissal, Tomkins and Benteke spurned good chances before Wickham was denied superbly by Adrián.

FT: So ten-men West Ham have held on to record their second victory of the season and climb out of the relegation zone. The Hammers were unfortunate to be reduced to ten after Cresswell was harshly dismissed for two controversial bookings, but ultimately it didn’t cost the visitors. West Ham had a chance to seal the victory before being reduced to ten when Payet had an effort smothered by Mandanda before Antonio struck the post with a header.

45′ West Ham United get the second-half underway.

45′ During the interval, Palace make a double change with Yohan Cabaye and Zeki Fryers replacing Ledley and Kelly.

HT: West Ham will need to get a second goal if they are to take all three points, given the aerial threat of the hosts from set-pieces. Palace will need to find a goal as soon as possible if they are to come back into this game. So will West Ham add to their tally or will Palace come back in this game? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: Palace had started the game poorly in comparison to their East-London opponents but did create a few good chances. First Zaha fired wide when in a good position. Then the hosts were given a golden opportunity to level the scores from the spot after Benteke was brought down by a late challenge from Ogbonna. However the Belgian couldn’t take advantage; firing the penalty wide. The Belgian came within inches of atoning for his penalty when his headed from a McArthur cross hit the post.

HT: The Hammers have been dominant for the majority of the first-half but have had to hold on for the last couple of minutes. The visitors started well with Cresswell, Zaza and Kouyaté going close before Lanzini scored the opener. Zaza almost managed to get his head onto the end of a Payet corner before Lanzini forced Mandanda into a good save.

HT: So West Ham are ahead at the break.

45’+1′ The referee blows his whistle to bring the first 45 minutes to an end.

45’+1′ So close!! Benteke almost redeems himself immediately, the Belgian meets a McArthur cross with a header that strikes the post with Adrián well-beaten.

45′ Penalty missed!! Benteke stutters in the run-up and despite Adrián going to ground early, the Belgian fires the spot-kick wide.

45′ There will be one additional minute.

44′ Penalty!! Zaha thinks he’s impeded by Antonio outside the area, which the referee waves away before Benteke is brought down by a late challenge from Ogbonna and the referee points to the spot.
