Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means that Sparta Prague move into third on three points whilst Inter remain bottom without a point. Southampton remain on top with four points ahead of second-placed Hapoel Be’er Sheva (also on four points) on goal difference. It is the second consecutive Europa League defeat for the Italian side.

FT: The visitors were poor in all honesty, gifting the Czech side two goals before Ranocchia’s dismissal, which left the Italian side vulnerable from the resulting set-piece from which they scored. Before Ranocchia’s sending-off, the visitors did find a goal from Palacio, albeit it fortuitously. They possibly should have scored another when Éder was found by substitute Icardi but he could only shoot wide. A lack of discipline from Inter cost them dearly in this match as their lacklustre defence was capitalised by the Czech side.

FT: So Sparta have beaten the three-time former UEFA Cup champions rather comfortably in the end. The scoreline doesn’t flatter the Czech side either as they could have extended their lead with Karavayev firing into the side-netting and V. Kadlec unfortunate not to have completed a hat-trick when he fired over the bar from close-range.

45′ Inter get the second-half underway.

HT: So will the hosts add to their tally or will Inter find a way back into this game? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: The visitors rarely threatened the Sparta Prague goal and the closest they went was when Ranocchia headed a corner wide. Palacio has been poor in truth, despite being isolated, the striker has been caught offside on a number of occasions. Éder has been quiet thus far but he’s not been the only one in an Inter shirt. The hosts have done well to force the errors and deny the visitors time on the ball and have capitalised as demonstrated with the two goals.

HT: The visitors have been incredibly sloppy and lacklustre in truth as demonstrated by the hosts’ two goals. First a rash and mistimed challenge from Melo allowed V. Kadlec to cut-inside into the danger area and fire home. Then a lapse in concentration from the Azzurris was capitalised by the hosts when a quick-freekick enabled V. Kadlec to surge clean through on-goal and he slotted home. The hosts should have had a penalty too when a clumsy challenge from Murillo sent V. Kadlec tumbling in the area but the referee was unmoved.

HT: So Sparta Prague are comfortably ahead at the break.
