Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussels, Belgium
62′ Silva (P)
Thanks for joining us.
FT: The result means Roberto Martínez’s opening game in charge of the Belgian Red Devils, ends in defeat. Whilst Julen Lopetegui wins his opening game in charge of the former World and European Champions.
FT: Spain had a number of chances in the second-half and they went close when Piqué had a header tipped over the bar by Courtois. That was before Costa forced Courtois into a good save. Then Silva doubled his night’s tally from the spot after Vitolo was fouled by J. Lukaku.
FT: J. Lukaku had a torrid night that was summed up after he conceded a penalty. He couldn’t deal with the threat posed by Vitolo. However the Belgium team as a whole under-performed. The closest they went was when De Gea was forced to tip over a De Bruyne effort.
FT: Belgium can count themselves lucky it was only two, given the gulfing class demonstrated on the pitch tonight. Spain were thoroughly dominant and had a number of opportunities to add to their tally, and on another day, had they been more clinical it could have been three or four.
FT: So Spain have run out comfortable winners.

45′ During the interval, Belgium make their first change with Nainggolan being replaced by Moussa Dembélé.
HT: So will Belgium come back in this game or will Spain add to their tally? Join us again for the second-half.
HT: Morata did leave the field early and Costa has looked a threat since coming on, he played a part in Silva’s goal and also went close when his effort from a tight-angle was blocked. Spain are unfortunate to not be further ahead after the referee disallowed a goal after Koke’s corner was volleyed home by Vitolo. There was very little if anything wrong with what occurred.
HT: Spain started slow but they did have a number of good chances with Alcántara twice going close on the volley either side of Silva’s goal. Vitolo looked a threat whenever he had the ball and J. Lukaku couldn’t deal with him and Hazard resorted to help him out: preventing him from getting further forward.
HT: Belgium initially started brightly and closed down the former World and European Champions really well. However they couldn’t create many chances. The closest they came was when Witsel fired wide after De Gea parried a cross.
HT: So Spain are ahead at the break.

Disallowed goal!! Koke’s delivery is met on the volley by Vitolo who fires home. However the referee had already blown for an infringement. In truth, there wasn’t much wrong there.
38′ Carvajal wins a corner.
34′ Chance!! Vitolo does well to get onto a long-hopeful pass and find Alcántara with a cross but the former Barcelona midfielder miscues his volley with the ball bouncing over the bar.
33′ Goal!! Vitolo does well to get ahead of Courtois and pull the ball back across goal where Costa tees up Silva who fires home despite a slight deflection.
31′ Ramos is penalised for a high foot.
30′ Vitolo is caught offside.
27′ J. Lukaku makes a fine challenge to slide-in and win possession in the penalty-area off Vitolo. He had to get that right!
26′ So here it is, the first Spain change sees Costa replace Morata.
