FT: The result means that Portugal remain in third on two points, ahead of Austria on one point. Portugal will only be able to progress with victory against Hungary, who are top on four points. Iceland are second also on two points but are ahead of Portugal on goal difference.

FT: Austria’s best chance was when an Ilsanker strike forced Patrício into a good save. They also should have scored when Harnik headed wide with a free header.

FT: Portugal had the better chances and Almer produced some fine saves and the one time he was beaten, he was saved by the post and then by the linesman’s flag. Nani had a number of chances and he should have scored twice.

FT: So a crucial late penalty missed by Ronaldo has cost his side as another dominant Portugal display hasn’t paid off.

45′ Chance!! Ilsanker fires a rasping drive that forces Patrício into a fine save to push the ball away.

45′ Austria get the second-half underway.

HT: So will Portugal go ahead, or will Austria do exactly what Iceland did and frustrate them and possibly even score? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: Austria had some great chances with Harnik missing a good chance with a free header from close-range, and Vierinha clearing a dangerous Alaba delivery off the line.

HT: Nani should have scored when he was one-on-one but Almer made a good save. Nani also hit the post with a glancing header, although again, he should have scored. Ronaldo also had a few opportunities with Almer producing some fine saves.

HT: So we’re goalless at the break with Portugal dominating the match, as they did against Iceland, and have created the better chances.
