UEFA Euro 2016

Group D

June 17th

Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Saint-Étienne, France

2-2

37′ Perišić

59′ Rakitić

76′ Škoda

90’+3′ Nedic

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The result means Croatia move to the top of the Group E on four points ahead of Spain, their next opponents in second on three points. Czech Republic move into third with a point ahead of their next opponents Turkey remain bottom without a point.

FT: Croatia will be disappointed having led for a majority of the game but their crowd has cost them the victory but the Czech Republic won’t mind.

FT: Crowd trouble also assisted Czech Republic as Croatia had lost their focus and momentum and the Czech’s were inspired and capitalised: piling on the pressure. They were given a helping hand though, when Vida handled in the area and Necid fired home the spot-kick.

FT: Czech Republic looked as though they would have conceded three or four times but after Škoda’s goal, they were given hope.

FT: So Croatia have squandered a two-goal lead and have to settle for a point.

HT: So will Croatia get two or three or will the Czech Republic get going and find a leveller? Join us again for the second-half.

HT: Croatia have been so dominant that it looks as though it could be curtains for Czech Republic, who haven’t really got going as of yet.

HT: So Croatia are ahead at the break and deservedly so. Croatia have had a number of chances with Mandžukić and Rakitić forcing Cech into some unorthodox saves.
