HT: So as it stands the game is heading to extra-time and possibly penalties. Will Liverpool get another goal or will it be Villarreal to score a precious away goal? One of these two sides are 45 minutes away from a Europa League Final, join us again for the second-half.

HT: The visitors know an away goal could be crucial and should they get it, it would mean the hosts would need to score two.

HT: The Reds have dominated the first period but haven’t created enough clear-cut chances and Villarreal have looked a threat on the break.

HT: Right on the stroke of half-time the visitors had a brilliant chance when Bakambu’s effort produced an easy save for Mignolet.

HT: However, the Reds have been lucky not to have gone behind earlier in the game. Mignolet made a crucial save before Liverpool’s goal when he reacted brilliantly to instinctively palm away a deflected Gaspar effort. The visitors also had another chance when dos Santos fired over the bar.

HT: The Reds have gone close to making it two with Lallana miscuing a shot from Milner’s pass when he should have scored.

HT: So the Reds deservedly lead at the break albeit to a fortuitous own goal from Soriano.
