Emirates FA Cup

March 13th

Old Trafford, Manchester, England

1-1

68′ Payet

83′ Martial

Thanks for joining us.

FT: The Hammers will feel hard done by as they felt that Martial’s goal shouldn’t have stood because of an infringement from Schweinsteiger on Randolph. Nevertheless a draw was probably a fair result.

FT: They’ll have to do it again now at the Boleyn, in what will be the Hammers’ final FA Cup game at Upton Park.

FT: It was a fantastic game towards the latter stages and it had some fantastic moments particularly Payet’s freekick.

FT: So Martial’s late goal earns Manchester United a replay against the Irons.

90′ There will be three additional minutes.

88′ Ogbonna concedes a corner from a Depay cross. The ball eventually finds its way to Rojo who volleys over under pressure.

86′ Final change for the hosts as Matteo Darmian comes on for Varela.

77′ Chance!! Schweinsteiger fires wide following a freekick.

76′ The visitors break from the corner and Payet is in a foot-race with Varela, but after beating the Man United full-back, he’s adjudged to have fouled him. Looked very soft.

75′ Double change for the hosts with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Memphis Depay coming on for Fellaini and Rashford.

74′ Blind’s effort deflects off the wall and goes behind.

73′ Antonio concedes a freekick for a foul on Rashford just outside the area.

69′ Close!! Rashford plays a nice one-two with Martial, the Frenchman then takes the ball on before having his effort smothered by Randolph. However, the Frenchman is adjudged to be offside.

66′ Blind is penalised for a foul on Payet.

64′ Penalty appeal!! Payet goes down under a challenge from Rojo. The Frenchman went to ground making contact with the Argentine’s trailing leg. The referee has a good hard look before waving play on. If it isn’t then why hasn’t the referee booked him?

60′ Chance!! Lingard finds Rashford who beats his man before his shot is smothered by Randolph.

52′ Payet wins a freekick after a challenge from behind by Lingard.

51′ The hosts eventually clear the danger.

50′ Reid concedes a corner.

45′ The visitors get the second-half underway. Chance!! Antonio sends in a teasing delivery that De Gea palms away.

HT: So will the hosts open the scoring or will the Hammers inflict a third consecutive defeat for the Red Devils? Join us again for the second period.

HT: Martial poses the biggest threat from the hosts especially with Antonio getting forward and leaving space behind. However, Carroll has looked dangerous too, powerfully heading over the bar. Payet is yet to really demonstrate his quality in this match and will hope to get onto the ball more in the second-half.

HT: The Emenike header was the closest either side came to finding the opener. The Nigerian has been threat also dragging an effort wide.

HT: So goalless at the break, the hosts have possibly had more chances although the visitors have had the better ones.

45’+1′ The referee blows his whistle to bring the first 45 minutes to an end.

45′ There will be one additional minute.

40′ Payet’s delivery isn’t dealt with properly; pinballing in the area before the hosts clear.

31′ Fellaini receives a yellow card for a cynical foul on Noble. The hosts feel hard done by as they felt Lingard was initially fouled by Noble.

29′ Chance!! Martial finds Rashford via a fortunate ricochet, but the youngster’s effort is off-target via a deflection. The corner is cleared.

26′ Chance!! Martial finds Rojo whose pullback finds Herrera, but he fires wide first-time.
