FT: The result meant that Roma moved up to 56 points to extend their lead in third by three points over their opponents from Florence. It meant that they closed the gap on second placed Napoli to two points, who are due to play later this weekend. Fiorentina remain in fourth on 53 points.


FT: So Roma extended their lead to cap off a fantastic display in preparation for the Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.

HT: The hosts have deserved their lead with El Shaarawy, Salah and Perotti proving to be too much for the Violas. However, Fiorentina have managed to pull a goal back from the penalty spot, albeit a fortunate one given the substitute made a meal of Digne’s challenge. Nevertheless, Fiorentina took advantage and reduced the deficit.


HT: The visitors did have chances prior to the hosts finding their rhythm, but didn’t really test Szczęsny at all.

38′ Goal!! Digne chests the ball to El Shaarawy who beats his man before finding Perotti with the outside of his foot. The Argentine fired the resulting pass home.

26′ So close!! Astori’s backpass is seized upon by Perotti, with just the goalkeeper to beat, he hits the post. Shaarawy then wins a corner.


25′ Goal!! Salah plays a nice one-two with Perotti, before hitting an effort that deflects off Astori to find the back of the net with Tătărușanu rooted to the spot.


24′ El Shaarawy wins a freekick in his own half.


22′ Goal!! Salah is wonderfully played through by Pjanić, the Egyptian then squares for El Shaarawy who slots home on the slide. Salah looked marginally offside, but the linesman didn’t see anything untoward.


20′ Perotti’s corner is claimed by Tătărușanu.


19′ Digne wins a corner.


18′ The corner eventually comes to nothing.


17′ Roncaglia just does enough to beat Salah to the ball, conceding a corner in the process.


15′ Chance!! Pjanić’s loose pass ricochets into the path of Salah who almost has a sight of goal but Roncaglia clears the danger.


12′ Close!! Iličić does well to cut inside before firing over, it was closer than his previous strike.


11′ Iličić fires harmlessly over.


10′ Nice interchange from the hosts – they’ve passed the ball well in the early stages but the visitors have snuffed out the danger when come under pressure.


8′ Nainggolan wins a freekick after a good turn.


6′ Digne sends in a good cross but the visitors eventually deal with it.


3′ Close!! The delivery is good and it falls to Kalinić whose header forces Szczęsny into a good save, but the Croatian was offside.


2′ Pjanić loses possession and concedes a foul on Costa.


1′ Salah is fouled by Astori. Moments later Keita concedes a foul.
